What is Medicare?
Medicare is mainly for people 65 and older, but some individuals under 65 may also qualify. You may be eligible if you’ve been on Social Security Disability for at least 24 months, or if you have certain conditions like End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or other permanent disabilities. Not sure if you qualify? Lynn Roach and the ProCompareMedicare team are here to help you figure it out.
What does Medicare cover?
It covers hospital stays (Part A), doctor visits and outpatient care (Part B), prescription drugs (Part D), and additional services depending on the plan.
What’s the difference between
Medicare Advantage and Medigap?
Medicare Advantage is an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare, while Medigap is supplemental insurance that helps cover out-of-pocket costs.
What does Medicare cost?
Costs depend on the type of plan you choose. Some parts have premiums, deductibles, and co-pays. We help you compare to find the most affordable option.
How and when do
I enroll in Medicare?
You can enroll in Medicare during your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), which begins 3 months before your 65th birthday, includes your birthday month, and ends 3 months after—a total of 7 months. If you’re already receiving Social Security benefits, you may be enrolled automatically.
To enroll, you can apply online through the Social Security Administration, by phone, or with the help of a licensed insurance agent like Lynn and her team at Pro Compare Medicare, who can walk you through the process step by step—at no cost to you.
What is a Medicare
Supplement (Medigap) Plan?
It fills the “gaps” in Original Medicare, such as co-payments, coinsurance, and deductibles.
What is a Medicare
Advantage Plan?
These are private plans that include Part A and B, and often Part D. They may offer extra benefits like dental, vision, and wellness.
What is a Prescription
Drug Plan (Part D)?
A standalone plan that helps cover your medication costs. We’ll help you pick the one that best suits your prescriptions.
What are Medicare
Ancillary Products?
These are optional extras like dental, vision, and hearing plans that boost your Medicare coverage.
How are Medicare agents paid?
Your agent is paid by the insurance companies—not you. At Pro Compare Medicare, all support is zero-cost and zero-pressure.
Are there penalties for
enrolling late in Medicare?
Yes, if you miss your initial enrollment window and don’t qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, you may face lifelong penalties on your premiums—especially for Part B and Part D. We’ll help you avoid them.
